Why do we need Green Deal Reports & Green Deal Advice?
"Our housing stock - the oldest in Europe - is costing us the earth. So we have set up the Green Deal to bring our homes into the 21st century."
Chris Huhne Energy & Climate Change Secretary.
Within the last 10 years, the UK and Europe have witnessed extreme weather events such as floods, droughts and wildfires. Now, for the first time, science tells us that as our climate changes the likelihood of these events also increases. Green Deal Reports & Green Deal Advice will enable all homeowners to update their home to help battle climate change by reducing energy waste and carbon emissions.
Green Deal Reports will start with an Energy Performance Certificate. This Certificate will form the base of the Green Deal Report and enable the assessor to give relevant Green Deal Advice.
The Green Deal Report will begin with a survey of the property and review energy useage. The Green Deal Report will not only look at current energy efficiency of the property but also analyse the current residents behaviour.
The impact and cost of all measures that would maximise the efficiency of a home will be clearly detailed within the Green Deal Report including those that may be available via Green Deal Funding.
Once the Green Deal Report is complete, if the homeowner wants to continue with their green deal plan it is then the role of the Green Deal Provider to give access to the funding.
